What to do around Camp Tanda

Big Bear Alpine Zoo

The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a rehabilitation facility offering injured, orphaned and imprinted wild animals a safe haven; temporarily while they heal or permanently if they are unable to survive on their own. We are extremely proud that 90% of all the animals brought to us for rehabilitation are successfully released back into their native environment. Those that remain with us on exhibit are either too injured or have been imprinted by humans and cannot be released back into the wild to care for themselves.

Big Bear Discovery Center

Opened in 1998, the Big Bear Discovery Center is the largest visitor center in the Big Bear Valley.  Stop by and be one of the more than 190,000 yearly visitors to enjoy exhibits, weekly programs, eco-tours, and special events like outdoor concerts, theater productions, and nighttime interpretive programs in the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater.

Big Bear Bowling Barn

The Bowling Barn is minutes away from the Big Bear Lake Village and offers a 16-lane bowling facility equipped with a state-of-the-art scoring system. With a full service snack bar and a video game arcade with some of the latest arcade games available for the kid or the kid at heart, there is something for everyone. The Bowling Barn is the perfect place for individuals, groups, and families to socialize and to have some plain old fun.
